This Jerry Lorenzo blackout design has been eagerly awaited by fans for a long time now. First set to drop around All-star weekend alongside the “String” colourway, that date came and went with no sign of the shoe being released. Now, Nike have finally confirmed a date for the futuristic look, and it’s tantalisingly close.
Jerry Lorenzo, the fashion designer responsible for creating the Fear of God line, has found a way to blend his own unique aesthetic with the popularity of Nike’s basketball shoe style perfectly. On the surface, Nike and Fear of God may seem miles apart in terms of what they do, but sneaker fans are always hungry for innovative, new designs that push boundaries, and the Nike Fear of God catalogue does just that.
They’ve thrown retro out the window and have focused solely on now, looking forward to the future. The Fear of God “Triple Black” is the amalgamation of innovative tech and cutting edge design for a look that is highly functional and looks straight out of a Blade Runner movie.
The trainer is built up around a black mesh sockliner contained within a cage system and thick tubular lacing. The toe area is finished with a suede material and contains reflective detailing. A jet-black rubber sole completes the look.
As with every other jerry Lorenzo look, numbers will be limited on release and the resale market is expected to once again reach four figures. On release date, a pair will set you back $350 (£299.95).
You can secure a pair by logging in to the Nike SNKRS app on Saturday April 25, the release starts at 08:00am so set your alarm as we expect this to sell out incredibly fast.
After release day, head to Laced’s online trainer’s platform for the best buy and sell options.
