The competition was fierce when the Dior x Air Jordan 1 Low collaboration was released last year and it’s safe to say that many sneakerheads were left disappointed as this iteration would have certainly made a nice addition to any collection. As it stands, Jordan Brand have recently announced the upcoming release of a new colourway – “Wolf Grey” – that is eerily similar to the Dior x AJ1 collab and looks set to be the ultimate alternative for a fraction of the retail cost!
The Air Jordan 1 Low “Wolf Grey” colourway sports an almost identical colour blocking but chooses to opt for crisp leather construction for a smooth finish that’s luxurious to the touch and super easy to clean. The colourway builds on a white base with light-grey panelling that wraps around the rear, lacing system and toe box for a simple yet sophisticated design. Of course, no AJ1 would be complete without the iconic Nike Swoosh, which is positioned elegantly on the lateral and medial side panels of the sneaker.
The nylon tongue is where the Jumpman logo can be found whereas the Winged basketball emblem graces the heel with sophisticated embroidery that really sets it up as a legitimate alternative to the high-ticket Dior iteration. The “Wolf Grey” colourway is finished nicely with an icy blue hue on the outsole for a crisp and clean addition to the AJ1 family that’s going to turn heads for all the right reasons.
Bearing such a close resemblance to the Dior x AJ1 collaboration, there’s no doubt that release day is going to be a frenzy! Although an official release date for the Air Jordan 1 Low “Wolf Grey” is yet to be released, sources suggest it’ll be hitting the shelves pretty soon.
