Nike and Off-White have joined forces for another collaboration, and this time Virgil Abloh has given the Nike Dunk a stunning update in a trio of fresh new colourways for the silhouette.
The Nike X Off-White Rubber Dunk fuses elements of the Nike Pegasus and of course the Dunk, to pay homage to the brand’s influence on technical innovation within the realm of skateboarding footwear.
First up is the “UNC”, a white and blue colourway that gives a subtle nod to the general releases of the 2000s, with silver panels providing a modern-day twist. The shoe also features a gum-coloured outsole, crafted with an exposed Air bubble and blue accents on the lateral, laces and trademark Swoosh put the finishing touches on this magnificent addition to the Nike Dunk family.
Next, it’s the “Green Strike”, a black colourway featuring arresting neon green accents to the Nike branding, outsole and upper panels. Constructed using the same blueprint as its counterpart, this shoe also lends influence from styles of years gone by, while providing a contemporary update to the classic look.
The last colourway is the release is the “University Gold” and this one uses yellow uppers that sit beneath a gold leather cage. The shoe’s midsole and outsole are painted in jet-black which contrasts the bright hues found elsewhere on the style beautifully.
This isn’t the first time Abloh has reinvented the popular silhouette. In the past the Off-White head was responsible for the “University Red”, “University Gold Midnight” and “Pine Green” iterations, which have all proven incredibly popular among sneakerheads, currently commanding at least double their £175 recommended retail price on the secondary market.
