Halloween is now just a matter of weeks away and Nike have a spooky surprise up their sleeve with an update to the Air Max 95 in the works.
A brand-new update to the uber-popular silhouette – the Air max 95 Ultra – is set to hit our shelves just in time for the October 31st date, and lovers of the brand’s darker colourways will love what’s about to land.
This lighter version of the Air Max 95 colourway will come in near-all-black attire, meaning it’s suitably dressed for the occasion. The shoe’s design couples black on the mesh, leather panels and taped synthetic with tangerine orange seen on the Swoosh logo, tongue branding, heel and insole to create a look that’s both minimalist and striking at the very same time. Also present on this fresh new variation is a clear Air unit that contrasts nicely with the black covers and rubber outsole.
This isn’t the first time Nike has got involved with the festive fun. In the past the brand’s released a multitude of designs that pay homage to Halloween, with ghoulish iterations of the Nike Air Max 90 and 95 dropping in the past.
And while this particular shoe’s not officially linked to the holiday, there’s no doubt Nike were giving a not-so-subtle nod to Halloween when they chose the black and orange colour scheme traditionally associated with spooky season for this design.
Nike Air Max 95 Ultra, which will cost around £140, is scheduled to drop in the coming weeks with select retailers and over at Nike.com. We’ll be sure to keep you sneakerheads updated once an exact release date becomes known.
