By now we expect the line for Nike Dunk Low collaborators is wrapping around the Nike design HQ like a pandemic supermarket queue. With the likes of Virgil Abloh, Strangelove, Travis Scott – hell, even Ben & Jerrys got in on the action – putting out show stopping looks for the Dunk in 2020, we’ve all been eagerly awaiting what new look is coming next.
Now, we finally have a look at the next episode: the Nike Dunk Low “Lemon Wash”.
The look of the new “Lemon Wash” colourway follows in the footsteps of Nike’s recent Space Hippie and Jordan Crater by utilising recycled materials as part of a more environmentally friendly design, and in order to create a brand new style.
This new look might not be as out there as the Space Hippie collections, and might not go be using recycled materials quite as overtly, but the use of a patchwork construction similar in style to the Travis Scott x Nike SB Dunk Low is definitely noticeable.
The “Lemon Wash” actually looks like a close cousin of the Scott design, with multi-coloured denim used amongst a selection of other materials, patterns and motifs to create a design that takes the eye on a journey, not knowing which way to look. The base of most of these panels are light denim and are the canvas that hosts an almost tie-dye, floral, and line art combination.
This is all brought together by creamy yellow Swoosh and laces as well as at the heel tab. The midsole is a clean white, sitting atop an outsole constructed from Nike grind rubber, built up of recycled scraps, which also draws parallels to the Space Hippie collection.
There is no release date as yet for the Nike Dunk Low “Lemon Wash” but it will definitely be in 2020 for around £80 in adult sizes.
