Fans of the Yeezy boost 350 V2 will know that earth tones make up the majority of the colourways on the menu. So, when a colourway breaks from the norm and looks at mixing it up a little, it goes either one of two ways; either fans jump on it like starved puppies or they scoff at the change like an upper class dandy being told about inheritance tax reform.
The “Yecheil” colourway was one such look. Moving well away from the usual muted, pastel tones and opting for a more retro and eon coloured look, the “Yecheil” is a head turner, no doubt, but will it be a page turner that fans will flip past or does it catch their attention?
At a distance, this is a simple dark colourway. But, as you get closer, like staring into the night sky, you start to notice more and more. Only this time, the stars are a mixture or red, blue and yellow colour designs entwined within the dark Primeknit upper.
The top half has a red and white aesthetic which blends into a yellow and black feature along the bottom. A blue design is placed on the back around the heel. The upper is brought together by 3M infused rope laces that are also given a freckled black and yellow look.
The midsole, where adidas’ iconic Boost tech is housed, is semi transparent to complete this fully retro vibe. The full feel of the Yeezy Boost 350 V2 “Yecheil” is really evident under the right lights. Like many of Yeezys previous looks this colourway comes to life under black lights of any retro neon-noir 80’s flick and even has elements that reflect light well in low light for a pair of trainers that help you really stand out.
