It’s almost a year since the release of the Yeezy 350 v2 “Yecheil” so we thought now was a good time to remind ourselves what a splendid colourway this one truly is.
As the last Yeezy release of 2019, it was also the last release of the decade – and what a decade it was for Ye, who had firmly established himself as one of the most pivotal figures in the world of sneaker design.
Since introducing the first Yeezys to the market, Kanye has gone on to revolutionise his collections time and again, adding new and quirky design features and unleashing a swathe of eye-catching colourways to match. But while it may be in great company, could the “Yecheil” actually be the greatest 350 ever released?
While that undoubtedly comes down to personal choice, some would argue the case that it is. Straying away from the usual earthy tones, the colour palette seen on this rendition of the uber-popular silhouette grabs your attention immediately. Comprised of a black upper with accents of white, red, blue and yellow, there’s no doubt Ye was thinking big when he drew up this bold design.
The rest of the shoe is a familiar story, with the patented side stripe in black, along with a semi-translucent midsole encasing a full-length bed of Boost technology for an ultra-comfortable fit.
Since dropping, the “Yecheil” has been fetching way above its recommended retail price on the resale market. Although the non-reflective iteration is floating around the modest £250 mark, the reflective version is currently commanding in excess of £500 – which just goes to show what sneakerheads have made of the “Yecheil” since its release.
