If you’re a fan of retro running trainers then chances are you have a special place in your heart for Nike. Running trainers with throwback designs are an important part of their repertoire and have been for a long time.
In the latest edition to the many, many retro runners from Nike is the Nike challenger OG in Navy. This is a silhouette that hasn’t been at the centre of Nike’s plans for awhile but has recently been on the receiving end of a design rush which has seen numerous colourways dropping left right and centre.
We’ve seen a revival of the Spridon Cage 2 as well as the Triax 96 but now it is time for the Challenger OG to receive a number of new colourways, including a red, blue and yellow colour scheme and clean white and black colourways so there’s something for everyone.
The newest colourway is a smart navy colour scheme which is gong to be a versatile addition to anyone’s rotation. The entire upper on the new Challenger OG is decked out in Navy, with layers of nylon, suede and mesh. The design is given added depth with white features all over the upper. White laces, Nike Swoosh and inner liner all help to make the darker Navy colouring pop and the Nike branding on the tongue also had the added feature of a splash of orange for even more colour.
The entire upper sits on a white midsole with a rugged, black outsole that has the functionality of a running trainer but also adds the athletic runner aesthetic to help it hold its place as a fashion piece too.
The new Nike Challenger OG Navy trainers are available online now. If you want to add these to your collection head over to Laced site for the best prices on the resale market.
